Participants in the FNP Residency program are not eligible to apply for NHSC or Nurse Corp Loan Repayment programs during the first year of the program, the formal Residency year. When that year is finished they may apply for those Loan Repayment programs when the application cycle opens up, typically in January of each year.
Participants in the NHSC/Nurse Corp Scholarship Program may defer the start of their service obligation until after the Residency year of their contract is finished. They need to speak with their analyst at their NHSC/Nurse Corp program to put the deferment into effect.
